The Opportunity
As a dedicated AVP, Talent Acquisition, you will be responsible for developing and leading the overall strategy and execution of the AVP, Talent Acquisition function. Partners with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the availability and delivery of diverse, fit-for-purpose talent. Champions and drives the design and development of innovative strategies and approaches that reflect USAA's business priorities while ensuring inclusive selection principles are embedded into sustainable business operations.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX. Relocation assistance is available for this position.
What you'll do:
Accountable for the development and execution of USAA’s overall talent attraction strategy and recruitment philosophy.
Partners effectively with key stakeholders including senior business leaders, HR Business Partners and HR Centers of Excellence.
Accountable for enterprise talent delivery operations, including attracting, sourcing, recruiting, tracking, screening, selecting, hiring, and onboarding qualified talent.
Ensures appropriate infrastructures are in place (systems, practices and tools) to attract and curate quality talent.
Innovates and ensures continuous improvement of talent delivery tools, systems and processes related to recruiting process optimization, talent acquisition workforce performance and capacity monitoring, internal and client-facing analytics, insights and reporting.
Maintains in-depth knowledge and stays abreast of new and developing legislation related to talent acquisition practices (Equal Employment, Fair Labor Standards Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Privacy Laws, Affirmative Action, OFCCP, etc.).
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
Builds and leads a team through ongoing execution of recruiting, development, retention, coaching and support, performance management, and other managerial activities.
What you have:
Bachelor’s Degree OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources developing strategies, managing major initiatives and delivering results within a complex, matrixed environment with at least 5 years of talent acquisition experience designing, building, and/or leading talent acquisition functions.
6 years of people leadership experience in building, managing and/or developing high-performing teams.
Experience overseeing full lifecycle recruiting processes with in-depth knowledge of the talent acquisition landscape.
Demonstrated ability to effectively influence, partner and manage senior executive stakeholders.
Demonstrated understanding of relevant labor laws and legislative initiatives and collaborates with Labor and Employment (L&E) Counsel to assess impact of regulatory proposals on USAA’s talent acquisition programs.
Experience developing key metrics for measuring effectiveness of talent processes and outcomes.
Demonstrated experience leveraging technologies to drive effective talent processes and outcomes.

Salary: The salary range for this position is: $195,230-$351,410.
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.

Long Term Incentive Plan: Cash payment for Executive level roles only, representing a cash payment which is both time and performance based.
