The Opportunity
As a dedicated HR Site Director for the Tampa, Florida office location, you will serve as primary HR point of contact accountable for providing advice, guidance, and support to leaders in the execution of talent programs and processes, proactive consulting, and escalated employee issues. Consults with regional site leaders, HR centers of excellence (COEs), and HR Business Partners to create, enhance and deliver broad-based and local HR initiatives and programs. Leverages data and industry insights in the design of strategic HR solutions.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week.
This position will be based in the Tampa, Florida office location.
Relocation assistance is available for this position.
What you'll do:
Partners with business leaders and HR Business Partners to understand localized employee needs and develop HR strategies supporting regional business objectives, including talent acquisition, engagement, retention, development, and performance. Actively manages relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective HR program delivery.
Operates as “One HR,” working in partnership with HR business partners to evaluate and drive HR approaches and processes, influencing improved outcomes in support of changing business needs.
Proactively anticipates and champions the execution of association-wide talent offerings across all HR domains, ensuring alignment with regional organizational goals.
Provides proactive and insightful advice and guidance to leaders related to HR processes and programs. Drives the implementation, execution, and ongoing management of key processes tied to the talent lifecycle.
Provides trusted advice and coaching to senior executive leaders and serves as a strategic catalyst and change champion. Effectively challenges senior executive leaders and delivers difficult messages as needed.
Brings forward emerging regional trends and insights to inform HR strategies and program design and leads the identification of evolving HR process requirements, collaborating with regional business leaders, HR Business Partners, and HR COE’s to improve the effectiveness and relevance of HR policies, programs, and services.
Serves as a primary point of contact for employee relations issues ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws and escalates complex cases appropriately. Delivers employee relations and other training programs, including leadership development initiatives, informed by identified needs and regional trends.
Champions company culture by driving engagement with regional events and activities that promote positive employee relations and a sense of community.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
Bachelor's degree required OR 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
8 years of progressive human resources experience (employee relations, HR business partnerships, compensation, talent management or related experience).
4 or more years of experience leading cross-functional teams or projects requiring strong collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
Demonstrated experience leveraging data and insights to influence differing stakeholder groups.
Demonstrated experience leveraging business and organizational insights in the enhancement of programs or processes.
Advanced experience managing multiple competing priorities.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, influence and build relationships with differing stakeholder groups.
What sets you apart:
Proven experience as an HR professional within a large, complex organization (e.g., Fortune 500).
Demonstrated experience in at least one of the following industries: insurance, banking, service, or distribution.
Experience developing and implementing HR programs and initiatives that drive employee retention, talent pools, engagement and a positive organizational culture.
Experience building and maintaining relationships with community organizations and leveraging these partnerships to support HR initiatives and employer branding.
Demonstrated ability to gather and analyze site-specific insights to inform HR strategies and tailor programs to meet the unique needs of different locations.
Prior experience working in a matrixed environment, with a track record of successful cross-functional collaboration and influencing skills.
Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $127,310.00 - $243,340.00.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
