The Opportunity

As an HR Business Partner Lead, you will serve as a trusted advisor to the Chief Technology Officer and senior leaders across USAA’s Technology organization. You will play a meaningful role in crafting and implementing talent strategies that enable a future-ready, high-performing workforce. This role partners closely with leadership to align people priorities with the organization’s strategic focus on Agentic AI, Generative AI, and Accelerated and Emerging Technologies. By using deep business sense, data-driven insights, and a forward-thinking approach, you will influence key decisions, address sophisticated workforce challenges, and drive initiatives that champion innovation, agility, and engagement across the technology landscape.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week.

This position will be based in San Antonio, TX office location.

Relocation assistance is available for this position.

What you'll do:

  • Develops innovative, agile, proactive, and efficient HR strategies in alignment with strategic objectives and influences senior executive leaders in the delivery of talent solutions.

  • Provides mentorship on talent management, organizational development, employee relations, performance management, organizational change or other human resources initiatives.

  • Accountable for strategic approaches and inputs that advise strategic and operational workforce plans and associated cost of labor.

  • Proactively partners with business leaders, Finance and Workforce Planning partners to help ensure alignment with cost of labor targets.

  • Provides trusted advice and mentoring to senior executive leaders and serves as a strategic catalyst and change champion.

  • Partners with HR COE leaders to evaluate and drive HR approaches and processes, influencing improved outcomes in support of changing business needs.

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's Degree or 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

  • 8 or more years of meaningful work experience in one or more human resource fields, or general business consulting/analysis or business management experience, to include 4 or more years experience in leading cross-functional teams or projects requiring collaboration, facilitation and negotiation skills.

  • Demonstrable ability to assess and make decisions of a sophisticated nature that aligns to Enterprise and/or Line of Business objectives.

  • Demonstrable ability to optimally communicate and influence at all levels within the assigned Line of Business or functions and/or cross-Line of Business.

  • Subject-matter-expert knowledge of data analysis techniques and tools and Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

What sets you apart:

  • Strong HRBP experience supporting a large Technology organization/team.

  • Management consulting experience (i.e. Deloitte, McKinsey, Accenture, etc).

  • HR and/or PMP designation(s).

  • Solid attention to detail.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $143,320.00 - 273,930.00.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
