The Opportunity

As a Talent Advisor specializing in coaching and mentoring, you’ll play a crucial role in developing fit-for-purpose talent solutions, ensuring the effective integration of key talent management practices through collaborative partnership with HR and business functions.

This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the design and evolution of talent management strategies and programs that shape the future of leadership at USAA.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, Chesapeake, VA, or Tampa, FL.

Relocation assistance is available for this position.

What you'll do:

  • Consults with business leaders to develop and implement talent programs and solutions to address key business needs and strategies.

  • Participates and provides feedback on talent projects from strategy to implementation.

  • Leverages data and insights to support talent practices and talent deliverables.

  • Delivers programs for specific employee populations, such as military-affiliated talent, high potential talent, and any other key segments as well as critical skills for the future of the workforce.

  • Uses data analytics to inform leadership development talent strategies.

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree; 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree

  • 4+ years of experience in talent program and process development and implementation with a focus on talent development (e.g. coaching, mentoring, rotations, leadership development, talent pipeline planning, learning, skills management)

  • Knowledge of various talent management technology solutions.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, particularly when working with senior executives

  • Uses technology, AI, and/or automation to work efficiently.

  • Demonstrates a structured approach to problem solving while balancing competing priorities

What sets you apart:

  • Track record of designing and managing coaching and mentoring programs that build enterprise leadership capability and accelerate high-potential development

  • Proven experience coaching senior leaders to strengthen leadership skills, decision-making, and performance

  • Executive coaching certification or relevant formal education preferred

  • US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $77,120.00 - $147,390.00.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
