The Opportunity

As a dedicated Executive Assistant, you will provide high-level support to the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and serve as a key partner within the Investment Portfolio Management organization. You will manage complex executive priorities, facilitate communications, coordinate strategic business activities, and anticipate needs to maximize leadership effectiveness. Through exceptional organization, discretion, and proactive problem-solving, you will help ensure the seamless execution of business objectives.


We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week.


This position will be based in the San Antonio, TX office location.


Relocation assistance is available for this position.


What you'll do:

  • Provide executive administrative support through the management of calendars, communications, priorities, and business activities. Partner with assigned Executive Management Group (EMG) member(s) to optimize use of time, navigate competing demands, and support the achievement of business objectives.
  • Prepare and update presentations, correspondence, communications, and other materials on behalf of assigned EMG member(s). Ensure accuracy, adherence to USAA standards, and appropriate handling of confidential or sensitive information.
  • Maintain awareness of organizational communications, leader messaging, and key deadlines. Support a positive team culture by coordinating employee connection points, including staff meetings, one-on-ones, skip-levels, and other engagement activities.
  • Coordinate meetings and events by managing schedules, attendees, agendas, meeting materials, and logistics. Document meeting outcomes, action items, and follow-up activities to support effective execution.
  • Partner with leaders to support onboarding, offboarding, and employee transitions. Coordinate resource access, organizational updates, distribution lists, workspace logistics, and transition plans to promote a seamless employee experience.
  • Manage travel, expense reporting, office resources, and other administrative expenditures with a focus on budget stewardship, operational efficiency, and timely execution.
  • Maintain filing systems, records, and key business documents. Generate reports and administrative materials requested by assigned EMG member(s).
  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
  • 4 years of directly related experience providing administrative support to executives or leadership teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and other business productivity tools, with demonstrated experience creating presentations, managing spreadsheets, and retrieving and analyzing data.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex calendars, coordinating multiple priorities, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of an organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

What sets you apart:

  • Experience supporting senior executives within an investment management, asset management, banking, financial services, or related organization.
  • Experience serving as a trusted delegate for executive approvals, workflows, and administrative systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate needs, exercise sound judgment, and proactively resolve issues with minimal direction.
  • Proven ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience managing executive travel and expense reporting using Concur.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work with urgency and responsiveness while managing multiple competing priorities.
  • Experience supporting military leaders, senior military officers, or executives in highly structured and mission-focused environments.
  • Demonstrated resilience, professionalism, and composure when navigating challenging situations, competing demands, and constructive feedback.
  • Willingness to provide occasional support outside of standard business hours to meet business needs.
  • US military experience gained through military service or gained as a military spouse / domestic partner.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $63,590.00 - $121,530.00.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
