The Opportunity
As a dedicated Supervisor, Security Specialist you will be responsible for monitoring the safety and security of employees, contractors, visitors and facilities worldwide. Able to use but oversees shifter personnel to utilize a variety of tools ranging from access control, video management, computer aided dispatch, alarm monitoring, report management, intelligence sources, radio dispatch consoles, and in-house tools. The Security Operations Center detects, analyzes, and dispatches security officers, monitors incidents, and provides support. Additionally, we notify appropriate strategic partners, and/or external responding agencies regarding any adverse conditions impacting the association or its employees, contractors, and visitors. These incidents may range from simple theft to active assailant. Works under minimal supervision and leads shift operations. Performs complex work assignments and problem resolution across multiple disciplines. Collaborates with all levels of USAA management and internal partners to assess business or personnel issues related to security, safety, and risk. Provides training, coaching, feedback, and performance management for Security Specialists on shift.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 5 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX ; Phoenix, AZ. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
What you'll do:
- Oversees and leads association wide security activities for each shift of the 24x7x365 Security Operations Center.
- Conducts ongoing review of multiple systems and sources to detect potential risks.
- Inspects alarm cause and impact and creates recommendation reports.
- Provides supervision for major incidents.
- Gathers information, analyzes data trends, identifies root cause(s), and proactive provides information to leadership and appropriate stakeholders.
- Leverages internal and external partnerships to proactively solve business problems and ensure appropriate elements are communicated in a clear and timely manner.
- Supervise shift personnel to ensure procedural requirements are met.
- Responsible for the leadership, performance management, and development of specialists.
- Manage formal supervisory duties, including recommendations for personnel actions, performance evaluations, timekeeping, and Personal Time Off (PTO) requests.
- Guides team members in the development and delivery of their work product.
- Build and manage a team through development, retention, coaching, performance management, and other managerial activities for the assigned shift.
- Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
Experiences that will support your success:
- Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
- 4 or more years of operational experience in a Security Operations Center, Public Safety Answering Point, or Law Enforcement Dispatch Center environment.
- Proficiency in operating and managing CCTV systems, access control systems, and alarm monitoring systems. Ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Proficient level of business acumen in the areas of the business operations, industry practices and emerging trends required.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with law enforcement, emergency responders, and senior security stakeholders, including leading coordination during critical incidents.
What sets you apart:
- Previous people leader experience in an operation center.
- Previous experience managing emergency incidents.
- Previous experience using CCure, Victor VMS, AVTEC, Perspective.
- US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner [optional]
Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $63,590.00- $114,450.00.
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
